Bio:
Sophomore Willie Amos was a key contributor the last two seasons in the Husker secondary. He moved from free safety to cornerback this spring in order to take over for departed All-American Keyuo Craver. The move was successful, and Amos was set to provide the Husker Blackshirts a corner boasting excellent speed, size and agility. However, Amos tore his left ACL/LCL midway through spring ball. Although he is working diligently to rehabilitate the knee this summer, Amos is doubtful to return to action this fall. Since he has not yet redshirted, Amos will most likely sit out the season as a medical hardship.

A two-sport standout who also is a member of the NU track team, Amos has the highest Performance Index among current Husker defensive backs, boasting a 2,713 score (fourth best on the team), with a 4.45 electronic 40-yard dash time (best on the team) and a 1.55 time in the 10-yard dash (sixth best on team). He also owns the best pro-agility run among current players with a time of 3.79 seconds (NU position record) and a 37.5-inch vertical leap (second best on team). Last spring, Amos helped the Huskers to a Big 12 Conference indoor track and field title, anchoring the Huskers¹ 4x400-meter relay to a fourth-place finish. He also competed in the 200 meters. At the Big 12 outdoor meet, Amos ran a leg on NU¹s 4x100 relay team.

In addition to his exploits on the gridiron and the track, he is a member of a national and world champion jump rope team, competing in the double-dutch event. With his jump rope team, Amos has performed at numerous events, including a Seattle Sonics game.

Personal: The son of Willie and Michelle Brown, Willie was born on July 28, 1982, and majors in advertising. His guardians are the Rev. John and Patricia Hamilton. Amos has been a volunteer speaker at various Lincoln Public Schools, assists with freshman football orientation, Team Spirit Hospital Visitations, and often performs at events.
